Rap is one of my favorites along side with Rock and a few other genres. I like rap because it is American music born in the streets of urban America. This is why foreigners now matter where they are from look out-of-place rapping. Not only was it a music style it was a generation trend. When I was growing up I listened to Biggie Smalls, EPMD, THIRD BASS, THE BEASTIE BOYS, and RUN DMC these cats were talented compared the today's garbage.

My favorite music now would be R&B. I'm not talking about a lot of the hip-hop type R&B, but the real R&B sound. Artists I like include Brian Mcknight, Joe, Musiq Soulchild, Heather Headley, Tamia, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and the list goes on. I like songs that speak about love, and the "it's Friday night, leave you worries behind" type of dance songs.

I like music as I hear it, and some rap isn't bad.
Take MC Mong or Epik High (Korean artists). Their words aren't about bling-bling or sexual etceteras. Some are simply about love, being happy, etcetera.

Rap can be wonderful to listen to, because it has a flow of words poured upon your ears. When crafted carefully enough, it sounds like poetry. Other genres of music have the pitfalls of having multiple refrains and listening to them many times over can get tedious.

I'm a rapper...old school...to be exact. I couldn't carry a tune if you backed a truck up and poured it in. But spoken word is easy for me. I say I am a performer not a singer and don't ask me to sing the Star Spangled Banner...that's Whitney Houston's job!

rap is my favorite because it has nice beats to it and i like the rapping and especially rhyming. it's awsome!
(biggie smalls does a good job with rhyming and beats)
