how to add the precentage of some number by using the calculator

Convert the % to a decimal, 16% is .16 by definition.

Multiply by 1.16 in this case.

On your calculator:

16/100 * (the number you wanted) =
Answer

Since you want to add 16% to 5, just add 5 to the answer.

Do you mean 16% of 5 to 5?

5 x 1.16

To find 16% of 5, 5 / 100 x 16

Number multiply by the percentage and use % sign then plus.

Example : 5 x 16% when 0.80 will appear. You can then press plus sign on the calculator and 5.80 will come. Simple.

Just multiply the number by 1 + the percentage/100.
In your example
5*(1 + .16) = 5.8

First you'd insert the number(here you want 5?)

And then press +...
then insert the percentage-number (here it seems 16)
then press %(this will show you the value of 16% for 5... here 0.8)

After that press =

then you got the correct answer you want...(here 5.8)
