Well soon enough the entire globe should have WiFi (wireliess) Internet access to everyone, so over powerlines doesn't sound too likely. With the rate of increased technological prowess, it is unlikely to ever know what will be big in 10 years. I would guess things getting mroe and more personal, accesible, and multi-purpose. I'm thinking of Tiny laptops that fit your pocket with comfortable keyboards, home-security features, full TV capabilities, and solar energy.
Hopefully, we won't all be dead from UV rays and harsh weather.

They already do internet over the power lines. The funny thing about networks though is once you have something like the internet you can only improve it. Video is already becoming more popular and accessible everywhere. I'm sure virtual reality would be the next great thing to hit the consumer. We definately haven't mastered anything like a holodeck yet. The interesting thing though is that most of technology today was dreamed about in old scifi shows.
