They are in currently in a good position.
They have many chances to win the world cup 2007.
They are in a good form after the matches with sri lanka and west indies.
There are many talented players like Dhoni, Ganguly, Sreesanth, Zaheer khan etc.....
They are now in a normal position of winning the the world cup or being in the 2nd runner ups.

Strength:
1. 3 most successful player of ODI history (Ganguly, Tendulkar & Dravid)
2. 3 most hard hitting batsman of modern cricket (Dhoni, Shewbag & Yuvaraj)
3. 2 Most promiosing crickter of cricketing world (Robin Uthappa & Sreesanth)
4. 2 most sucessful medium pacer of last 6 months ( Zaheer & Munaf)
5. Most sucessful spinning duo of moden cricket (Kumble & Harvajan)
Weakness:
1. Standard of Fielding has not been improved during last 1 year.
2. We are paying lot of money to physio (selected by Chappel), but India is most injury pron team.
3. A Captain without any leadership quality, fully dependant on Coach
4.A Coach, who destroyed at least 2 players (Shewbag & Pathan) through experimental process. Who has tried to finish the carrier of at least 4/5 most performing players Viz, Gangully, Kumble, Zaheer, Laxman ............ and his physical training has injured Yuvaraj, sachin and others.

Indian cricket team consists of well experienced players as well as youngsters with lot of talent and can be rated one amont the best teams in the world. The only problem is they fail to play to their potential consistently and that is the reason why India's performance is not in line with the strength of the team.
If the players perform to their potential consistently with proper application, dedicfation, determination and fighting spirit, they can defenitely win the world cup.

once you've gamers like Sachin on your crew then Captaining an aspect turns into an a lot less complicated job. Manmohan Singh would no longer have a Sachin tendulkar of Politics to make issues a lot less complicated. So being PM of India is more confusing job than captaining a cricket crew.

May be they will reach the semi finals.That is the maximum i think.This is because not only the fitness levels of the team are not good enough but also because the team lacks a genuine all rounder of class.

Indian Cricket Team....can be best....can be bad or very bad...but cant be normal coz of lacking consistency.
