Imjin is the combination of Im (Ren in Chinese) which means water, and Jin (Chen in Chinese) which means dragon.

The Imjin War is known in Chinese as "renchen wei guo zhanzheng", and written "å£¬è¾°è¡åæ°ç" or "å£¬è¾°å«å½æäº" in simplified form.
