Well, that would depend on what they're convicted of. Under some scenarios, we should probably send them to live in one of the states that support them in the ensuing civil war. A "conviction" of a sitting President for something would end up at the Supreme Court, or be instigated by The Congress. Either way, the resulting Constitutional crisis would concievably destroy the seperation of the branches autonomy, resulting in a weak Congressional leadership by committee, or, equally horrific, a country run by legal decree from the judicial branch. I'm not sure anyone at all would be happy with strict interpretation of the Constitution as our daily guide. But that's a lengthy topic on it's own. And your question was hyperbolic to begin with. The Presidency isn't a man, it's an institution. An equal branch of government. If you make any branch subservient to the others, this country will fall apart quickly.

No. no question the Bush administration has sought to amplify its potential as do all administrations. And definite they have used underhanded methods to infringe on own freedoms and privateness rights, yet what they have accomplished won't be in a position to be put in the comparable realm as what Hitler did. If there's a assessment to be made its is between the German inhabitants at that element and the frequently silent and criticism American inhabitants immediately. potential corrupts, in a Democracy it quite is the persons who're in charge for checking that potential.

Realistically convictions will never happen. The worst thing that will happen to them is to force them to live down the legacies they have made for themselves. Living through a period of being mentally and spiritually banished by historians may be considered a worse fate than a meathook party.

My son just returned from a year in Iraq. His view is that these people are going to be at civil war for a long long time because they have always hated each other and a there are a lot of them that are just plain crazy, or the politically correct term is radical extremist.
Your comment just goes to show we even have a few of of that kind over here too.
But ask any Soldier, Airman or Marine who have done a tour of combat duty and they will tell you they signed up and would put their lives ON THE LINE so that you have the freedom to make your ignorant statements.

Take away their American citizenship but let them reside in America as illegal aliens. Then they could have free health care, schooling, and minority special privileges at tax payer expense. That will teach them not to mess with the American people.
