If they could Ruth, I think George Bush, Hillary Clinton, Nancy P, Rush, almost any celeb or politician could bring charges as reading from yahoo politics questions then would bring so many cases the courts would be clogged. I hope not either. Free speech is free speech and essential to our existance, besides one can always block a users emails and they dont have to respond to questions.Some people always tend to make moutains out of mole hills, I think they call them drauma queens and kings, I also think that the real world and the courts have better and more important iises to deal with. Than listening to complaints made by those calling this a police state, then wanting to manipulatee the same system they condem for their own adgendas! I mean crucify me for being straight, but most gays espouse tollerance and then fail to tolerate others.

Not possible. I hate Mexicans in America, including the cockroached hispanics born here. I think if I blew up one of the Los Angeles school buses filled with only spics, then yes, I could be charged with a hate crime.

Actually, in some of the world's inferior nations such as in Europe, there are laws against free speech when that speech is considered hateful. They can get thrown in jail for mere words, like in Germany to deny the Holocaust is a crime.
The US recognizes an absolute right to free speech, no matter how abhorrent.

If that were the case then all those who are prejudice against other nationalities would be charged with a hate crime.... An opinion or expressing ones Freedom of speech is not a crime.
