do u remember when the fixed line phone numbers had only 5 digits?
First of all, in the near future exhaustion of number combinations for Cell phones is not a real possibility. After a decade, it might happen so. Then we may migrate to a 11 digit numbering system or maybe a alpanumeric system of cellphone identification.

It will not happen... assuming that our mobile no remains of 10 digits, we can have 9 billion mobile nos at a time in this world. Population of the world is little more than 6.5 billion. That means even if everyone in this world has a mobile no, some nos will still be left to occupy.
