I know that I don't get money for being pregnant but shouldn't they know since I will be on maternity leave and stuff?

No you dont have to tell them until your baby is born and then they will re assess your claim, you get more for a baby under a year.

And to the stupid person saying having kids to get money, get a life the reason this person is getting tax creditd is because they WORK, and dont just live of benifits, should be congratulated not critised!!!.

when claiming again you do not have to include maternity money.

You cannot claim the child until after it's born. Only children born living can be claimed the year they are born. Other wise people would get pregnant just for the tax reasons and have them aborted or adopted.

when the renewel forms come fill in as you normaly would,im not sure if there is a question that asks if you are pregnant.i know it does say to let them know if there is a change of circumstances, but anyway, i rang them about a query and mentioned that i was pregnant and they said to get back in touch when baby was born.i think the baby needs to be registered before you can claim.

Sorry but it doesnt count until you actually have a S.S.N. for the baby. i know we all spend alot of money getting ready for the baby but you can not claim the child until it is born and has a S.S.N. You'll be really happy next year when you get your return.

Just phone them as soon as baby arrives, it won'tbe regarded as a change as circumstance until he is actually here! ;-)
