Wow sounds like you will have your baby in the next week. Have a happy birthing!

Ok - being 2cm 60% at 36 weeks is quite normal, and does not mean that you are about to have your baby any time in the very near future (ie: the next few days), especially if this is your first child. You may well sit like this for ages. Or you could have the baby tomorrow, there is no way to really tell.

As for the discharge, this is also very normal. As long as it is clear and not blood stained it is probably not your mucus plug. It is possible to lose your mucus plus over a number of days or hours but the majority of he time it will come out in one go. But losing your mucus plug doesn't always mean labor is on the immediate horizon either.

By the way, when you do lose your mucus plug, there is no reason you cannot still have intercourse, or take baths. You only need to restrict these activities if your doctor specifically tells you, or your waters have broken. Once your membrane ruptures you should not make love -it's unlikley you'll feel like it anyway! - and should only have a bath if the tub is very clean.

If you experience any leaking of fluid, or a strong backache or period-pain like cramping that wont go away if you change position or get up and walk around, you should call your doctor or midwife. At 36 weeks you're still slightly early.

Just enjoy this time before your baby comes - catch up on your sleep. :-)

I agree with all that Sydneymum said.. Also i am 38+weeks and lost my mucus plug 10 days ago, with constant cramping and backache (intense braxton hicks..) Still NO onset of active labour so it really could still be a while.. Good luck! Xx

That gross snotty stuff that you see is your mucus plug coming out. It's really gross, but that means that it's getting close to birth time. Once you get to be 100% effaced and 10cm dilated...it's go time!

Maybe you should go in to the hospital. Once that mucus plug comes out, then the water will soon break, so sounds to me like you need to go in!

Good luck and congrats!

# 1 don't take a bath while your loosing your mucus plug.. # 2 call your Dr. .Losing you'r plug is like letting your child be exposed to everything it is no longer sterile, most Dr.s will restrict you and Taboo on bang bang in the bedroom.. You may be induced I was after losing mine. I went to the hospital an hour after and they insisted on induction. But I was on my due date. Good Luck and call your Dr. If you don't have one call the health dept. in your area please..
