Sounds like constipation. A stool softener is not going to fix the problem immediately after taking it. The bleeding probably comes from a very hard, large stool trying to pass through a very small opening. If the bleeding continues, you need to have it checked by a physician. You should try to take a laxative, following the directions on the box, and see if that helps. You should also probably continue to take the stool softener for a little while until you become regular again. You should talk to your physician about foods that are high and low in fiber and what to avoid when you become constipated. If you don't have a good bowel movement after you take the laxative, get to your family physician as soon as you can.

Well I would say....seek the help of a doctor quickly.. if for some reason your not able to see a doctor I would suggest you using a enema. that you can get over the counter for about a buck...This would be more quick that waiting on a pill to take effect... and you can do it yourself.. As far as the blood I have experience the same problem when your stool gets to large and hard it can cause a tear which later you will probably be sore for a while.. But the best advice is to see a doctor if possible... dont keep making yourself suffer...

Sounds like constipation. If the softener and laxative don't work, try a enema. When patients come into our ER with this problem that's what they do. I know it sounds gross but you do what you have to do. If this happens alot see your doc and see what alternatives you have.Good luck, abd. pain is no fun that's for sure.

You aren't very clear about whether or not you are trying to pee or have a bowel movement.
IF you are trying to have a bowel movement and you have taken some Colace of any kind, it will soften what is in your upper bowel. \
IF you can't pee you have an infection and need to see a doctor.

you have 30 feet of colon and can become impacted easily because of your poor diet. most likely, you are experiencing constipation which is incredibly painful. begin drinking lots of water and buy a Fleet's enema from your local drugstore. follow the directions carefully.
if you receive no relief from the enema within 24 hours, go to the local ER.

I will make this simple and short. Get to the emergency room immediately. You could have a blockage and the more it stays in your system the more you are open to a serious bacterial infection. If the blockage breaks out of your intestines you will get a very serious infection throughout your body.. Please seek help immediately. If the pain is that severe get to the emergency room. Please do not take any medication to help you, this could cause more harm than good. Please take care of yourself. Call your Doctor as soon as he/she is in the office. You need to be checked.

Whenever you get this "worked out" however you go about it. From now on drink lots of water and don't hold it too long if you gotta go poo, this happens alot in children, they put off going and the poop gets too big and hard to pass easily.

It sounds like you are constipated.
Take one of those meds and drink lots of water.
Eat raw fruit and vegies.
Walk walk walk.........get those bowels moving!
The small amount of bleeding is from small blood vessels rupturing while your poop is trying to be pushed out.
Let this be a lesson of how to take care of your body.
