Lets just blame celebrities for everything, how bout u don't do this assignment and we will blame paris hilton for it.. just kidding. to a certain extent i do believe its celebrities, i am a 24 year old male and i think that what magazine and television or the internet portraits as a perfect female body is actually seriously underweight, due to which we are losing the good looking healthy woman in our society... these days they are mostly underweight when they think they are fit.

And only a little. I mean, there are plenty of celebrities who do not have a problem. But Hilary Duff, Lindsey Lohan, Mary-Kate Olsen and Nicole Richie are on the news so often that teens start to think that the thinner the better. Also, There are more anorexic celebs rather than ones like Ashley Tisdale, Raven-Symone, Brenda Song and Miley Cyrus. Disney Channel is doing better at keeping their actresses healthy unlike when they had Hilary and Lindsey.
Well I gotta go,

The parents are to blame! They don't care what their children eat or how much they eat or how it is cooked. Not all parents are to blame, there are a few that watch over their children, but it seems parents of today are to busy with everything else to pay attention to their own family. Celebrities get paid to advertise certain diets, foods, clothes or whatever. They don't know your child nor do they care what effect it has on the youth of today. I am a female and a grandmother. Good luck with your school project. Hope I helped a little.

um no, celebrities arent to blame for eating disorders in teenagers, because cant you say that many celebrities are the same size as regular teens? some teens lose weight because they think theyre overweight relative to other people or what they observe, not just celebrities.

Female and over 30. The media and fashion industry are directly to blame for using such skinny models. Celebrities are indirectly to blame because they let those industries dictate what is beauty to them.

Sometimes when we are growing up we idolize famous
people. They like to pattern their lives after them. Some
teens are more grounded in life than others.I'm 52 and proud of it.Either way celebrities should think before
doing something stupid that could steer a young person
in the wrong direction.

NO. People have eating disorders because they choose to do it. No one put a gun to their heads. I am sick and tired of people blaming the media for everything. People should have a mind of their own. They need to think for themselves; these people know right from right from wrong. Don't let the celebs lead you a stray. They go to jail and you don't have their status besides, you see what happened to Barata and the Juice; you don't want to be in their shoes. Eat that Hershy bar; it will save your life.

female, 46......I think the media as a whole is partly responsible for eating disorders, and comparing ourselves to other girls in the school age years.....all wanting the latest trend in clothes, and "fitting in"...fat girls get picked on and don't get to be in the "clicks"....it is a vicious cycle of things that leads to low self-esteem...family members, "should you be eating that" or "why can't you be like so and so.." It is a combination of a lot of things.....You didn't see this, anorexia, bulimia, "cutting", taking laxatives, obsessive behaviors like 30, 40, 50+ yrs ago....you took pride in your appearance, but not to the extremes that occur nowadays...so commercialized, everything.......
