All dreams come from the dreamers sub conscience, the dreamer would need to ask themselves what violence means to them to know the answer to this. Is the dreamer being violent, or being attacked?
If the dreamer is being violent it prob means they feel out of control in their life
If other way around then maybe it means they feel a victim to the current circumstances of their life.
But really, only the person who had the dream can explain what violence means to them, when they figure that out, then that's what their sub conscience is trying to tell them

I used to get violent dreams after working a murder scene, thankfully those have mostly stopped. It is your mind trying to make sense of what it sees. Maybe it senses danger in your present company, take a look at who you hang with. Maybe someone there is giving off the vibe of a dangerous person.
