Use cooking oil, an ice cube (freeze it, then break it), hold a can of dust-off upside down & spray it (be careful not to spray your skin -- contains liquid gases), Goo Gone, or similar product.

Dear smokey***

take your jeans and put them in your freezer. After 10 mins you will be able to scrape the frozen gum off.
For the couch do the same, (except for the freezer part), and freeze the gum with an ice-block. Once you have frozen the gum you can scrape if off.

Hope it helps!!

We have this stuff at work (i'm a custodian) that is a spray that freezes it and you can scrape it off. It's just Butane like you fill cigarette lighters with, it will do the same thing. It becomes brittle and breaks off. There may still be a small amount of residue but, will come off in wash.

There is this cleaner called Oops that will get anything out. It comes in a metal can and I've seen it at Lowes, Home Depot, and some Wal-Marts.
