Must be hanging with the 14 year olds.
The few women I know who ride have no problem, and I certainly don't mind riding with them. When I go with a group, it's ususally the guys whining, gotta stop for gas, etc......

As far as being threatened, I'm secure.
(and I have somebody to "ride this")

A 750 is only too good sized and robust for a beginner. Even the 250 is questionable. i began out on a 50cc Suzuki returned interior the early 70's. I found out lots on that small bike. i eventually moved on as much as a 750 and later an 1100 when I gained sufficient means and self belief. don't be in a hurry to go up in engine length. the better the huge style, the better and extra robust the engine of the bike is. as quickly as i became a beginner there have been a impressive style of Honda ninety's around and a impressive style of bikers won their initiate on them. The motorcycles presently are an prolonged far extra effectual than the motorcycles of the equivalent length engine have been 20 or 30 years in the past. Now a 500 is equivalent or maybe better to an older 750. in case you're in an self-discipline the place which you should verify off-highway I advise going that path earlier going against automobiles and trucks. A small airborne dirt and mud bike will coach you the fundamentals of coping with and traction and get you used to the energy without making you a objective for police.

I ride a kawi ZX6R and have never had any negative comments. In fact it is quite the opposite! Guys seem to really like girls who ride and I participate in group rides with both guys and girls all the time! You must just be meeting the really wrong male riders. Most are not like that at all. I suggest you go find yourself some new riding buddies! Good luck!

I think it's cool when a chick rides. I never witnessed any negative comments. You're probably hanging around the wrong crowd. Quit riding with the children and find a group of real riders. In my circles woman are welcomed into the brotherhood just like the guys are.

No. You are not right.
There are a few old-school bikers who think a woman belongs on the pillion only.
There's lots more of us who encourage our wives, girlfriends and other women to ride.

Something like 10 % of new bike sales are to women.

We think,"...ohh baby ride this!" about women whether they ride or not. Its just a guy thing. ; ^ )

It is envy. The idiots have a problem with not controlling you and
your machine. Be the wind, sunshine, and take no notice. Keep
a holstered telescoping steel assault rod mounted on front fork.
One flick of wrist after hand has withdrawn it extends the wand
and side-way swing into kneecap eliminates unwanted company.

I love to see more people riding. Male or Female. I do have to agree that it does threaten a mans masculinity sometimes. I ride with plenty of females. We went to the track one day and one of the girls tore me a new A* hole on her gsxr1000. Made me feel a a bit less masculine but I got over it and took some pointers from her.

Yeah yer pretty much right on the ones that care about that sorta thing..

Addendum: BTW most girls I know actually have thier own bikes.. and i built my x wifes first harley for her and its what she learned to ride on first time(a harley is a good girls bike.. nice and slow LOL) I hate my X wife sometimes.. my motorcycle club Prez used to let her ride at the front with him (Sons of None M/C) and I had to ride at the back of the pack most of the time being the newest member then LOL) Now i must admit my Xwife on a bike scared the F**K outt me on more than one ocassion... (I didnt even know a sporster hugger would do 110 MPH LOL.. teach me to make mods LOL).. the other time was when yucca Valley flash flooded and there was about 2 ft of water over highway 29.. the rest of the club (about 20 of us slowed down.. this crazy chick (the X) plowed through and hit the wall of water at about 60 MPH and just went right through it (hey she was legally nutz LOL)

My last former GF is the only one that couldnt ride.. she tried (Honda scooter) but she just wasnt cut out for it..(she crashed it in fact.. and gave it up) not every one is.. male female makes no difference.. some do and some dont..

I have been a trainer, racer, race instructor, and have some years riding and racing street and off road. I have nothing against female riders but I have noticed there skills are not as good. I don’t know why and I’m not saying they can’t or should not ride I am just pointing out my observations.

I have ridden on the track and on the street with some of the fastest female riders in CMRA and in the country. They are faster than the average guy but not amazing fast.

They are impressive to ride with but they don’t come close to the lap times of the guys. They run mid pack or even slower vs men. They can get first place against other females and finish 30th overall.

I find this strange because racing a motorcycle is not strength, it is mental. On average women make me nervous because there reactions seem to be slower and they appear to ride scared.

Another observation I have made is it seems that women ride for different reason than men. Men seem to love the bikes and the riding. Women are generally in one of three categories.

1) Women like the idea of riding and the attention they get from the guys. It is more about the attention from guys.

2) Truly like riding and they have not interest in guys but like the ladies.

3) There boyfriend / husband talked them into.

Me I don’t care and I don’t think most people care. Ride for what ever reason you ride for and who cares what anyone thinks. Have fun and ride safe.
