I'm turning 17 in a little less than a month and I've never gotten my period. I know that it's normal for some girls to get it later than others, but it seems like it should have happened by NOW. Is this something I should talk to a doctor about or be at all concerned over?

I'm of a low-normal weight for my height (5'5 113 lbs.), I exercise a bit (jogging occasionally mostly), but a do take vitamins regularly and have been for quite awhile.

I didn't get my period until I was 16 so it's not that unusual. However, I would still go to a gynecologist to find out if there is anything wrong. I have the feeling, though, that you will start and day now but to calm your fears I think it is worth a visit to the doctor.

It's possible that you could be getting ready to start any time now but I agree with the other posters to talk to a gynecologist about this. On the first visit you can ask to talk to the dr in plain clothes before doing anything with an exam.

There could be a variety of different thing that has impeded your menistral cycle. It would be a smart thing for you to consult your family doctor about what is going on. Some thing as simple as being athletic might be all there is to it. See your Doctor. A good question for all of our ladies.

speak with a doctor or Planned Parenthood. this may be normal for you. a doctor will check certain blood tests as well as perform a pelvic exam to ensure that you are healthy.
such things as dieting, obesity, participation in sports, and your mother's age at onset of menstruation are all factors that may cause a late onset for you.

Well you should be getting regular check ups anyway so yes you should go to the doctor and ask at your yearly check up. I wouldn't worry though.

I would definitely talk to a doctor if I were you. Are you underweight or do you have any health problems that would cause this?
