What is the first step to begin a career in acting?

I am 18 and live in india but have a good command over the english language. I am going to make into hollywood no matter what. I just need guidlines to work on.

you need to get into a university that has a good acting class rep. Then get into some local productions and grow a resume. Every actor started small, every actor took classes in either high school or college and starred in local plays. Then you can go from there.

First of all "Hollywood" is not all it is cracked up to be. You need to decide if you want to be an "Actor" or a "Celebrity." These are two completely different concepts. Actors are artists, with a vision and a purpose and a message. Celebrities are....well, not. If you are planning on moving to LA, sit at a coffee shop for an hour or so and be "discovered," you have another thing coming. Getting to LA is only the first step. From there you'll need an apartment, a car, medical insurance and most importantly an agent. You won't even be able to get into an agents office without a headshot....which will run you about 500.00....and even having an agent doesn't give you work for sure. I would get a good education and find a job that would put me in LA or New York, doing something other than acting....and then explore pursuing that career. Good Luck....I'll tell you what I tell every young person I meet in "Hollyweird" .......If you can imagine being happy while doing anything else in your life.....try that first......

Mate im an actor as well and i have started to do anything i possably can to start my acting carrer, You need talent, to be outgoing, and to hae experience.
And remeber, there are hundreds of people out there trying to do the same thing.

Start small, and build up, your connections need to be built.
