Walking along the sidewalk when suddenly it felt a little slippery. Damn! I scraped off most of it. The shoes were nice ones - $$$. They are sitting on my doorstep. I don't want to clean them. What would you do???

Get the bleach, some water, and a shallow pan. Fill the pan with this solution just a fraction of an inch and set the shoes in the pan for a few minutes.

You can determine how much of this solution you want to use, say less than a 1/4 of an inch or as much as will cover the soles 1/2 way up (horizontally and) long before the solution can possibly reach the leather upper.

I would follow this up with rubbing the soles of the shoes to within an inch of their lives with antibacterial wipes.

Actually, the biggest problem is really mental: It's normal to have such a reaction--you'd have the same reaction if you stepped in dog poo, right? ...and, curse the dog owner for not cleaning up after their dog.

Well, in this case you have at least two options as regards your reaction:

1--Curse the sot that couldn't or wouldn't hold their liquor or the bartender for not cutting them off.

2--Wish well the child who had too much birthday cake.

Then also consider, after giving them a righteous cleaning, getting a shoe shine to give the shoes a kind of "blessing" or "annointment" of new life, a new day, a new start.

Good luck. I know the ewww factor is a tough row to hoe. Give it time.

Take the hose and spray the problem off. Spray the bottom of your shoes with a disinfectant. Leave them in the sun for a while to dry. They'll be fine.

I'd put on some rubber gloves and clean them with bleach and water if it's just on the bottom. Otherwise, I'd use some other kind of cleaner so I wouldn't bleach the color. If you don't want to clean them then I'd say they're history.

My opinion, yes because you vomit when your sick so it could carry germs. But if it was your vomit no.
