practice with her every day.
have her play matches against other people at least 4 times a week.
tell her to be proud of herself, because you are proud of her.
Tell her to ignore other people when they laugh, if they don't know that they are effecting her, then they will stop laughing at her eventually.
She needs your help!

People who try out for the tennis team range from being at a college level, to being pure beggingers. the reason for this is that tennis is a relitivly expencive sport if you are going to have the top equitment and top pros coaching you. Some people practice on their own and some have higherlevel help. So no one on trying out is expecting everyone to be great. Tennis team girls are probably the nicest out of all the sports girls and more exepting. People will not laugh at her. All she needs to do is prepare (hitting ball after ball, working on serves, and conditioning) and have that mental game. Mentality is the main part of tennis. all you need is the right mind state to win.

I think that it takes guts even to try out for something, whether it be for tennis, basketball, a play, or anything else. Someone who has the courage to try out for something should be commended and respected. If someone laughs at you, it is probably because they are jealous of you in some way. Just relax and play from the heart. The worst thing a coach can say is no!

First of all tell her to believe in herself,I to went out for the tennis team not knowing if I was good enough to make the team, this was in my junior year that I tried out so I was competing with players who were on the team the previous year, but I believed I was good enough to earn a spot on the team, luckily I played well enough to be the #5 seed my junior year and then the #3 seed my senior year.I am so glad that I tried out if I had not and let my fears persuade me I would have missed out on making new friends and competing in high school sports. So just go for it!!!

Tell her to quit worrying about what people think about her and just do what she wants to do. If people worried about what people thought all the time nothing in this world would ever get done. I suck at tennis so tell her she could beat me any day of the week haha
Well, Practice with your friend and covince her that its easy and make her mor comfortable
GOOD LUCK

Practise makes perfect! Be a good friend and boost her till shes willing to try for the team.... I make a fool of myself in tennis all the time but i still love it and play it. Make sure she knows its ok to laugh at herself! when people laugh at you, laugh with them.... it eases a lot of embarrasment! Practise together in private then stun everyone someday when she is good enough!! good luck!

Just keep encouraging her. That should boost her confidence, especially coming from a friend. Also, take some extra time on the weekends or something to help her out. She will really appreciate it in the long run!! I wish the both of you the best of luck!!!

Practice with her at a park or something so she feels confident enough to try out.
