I've been using Tylenol PM to get to sleep for the past 2 weeks. I decided to stop taking it because I was having weird dreams. Do you have any remedies for someone who is having trouble sleeping?

If you're lucky enough to find it in a store, Hershey has a wonderful product. It's called Hershey's Goodnight Hugs White Chocolate Hot Cocoa Mix. It is 99.9% caffeine free. That stuff really hits the spot on these cold winter nights. It beats the heck out of warm milk.

Warm milk (mix with ovaltine for better taste)
White noise (machine or fan)
Think of something peaceful & serene (I usually think of SCUBA diving in a coral reef)
Jot down your thoughts on a piece of paper as a way to transfer stress from your mind to an inanimate object.
Read a book
Exercise
Tylenol PM will cause side effects, and might even make you groggy the next day -- something a sleep-deprived person doesn't need.

Well try to find some way which you can relax because stress is one of the cause why you can't sleep well. You better try to drink some warm milk cause it contain a subtance (just forgot the name of it)that can help you to have a good sleep. Avoid always thinking your problem to relex your mind and in that way you can have a good sleep. If still you cannot sleep try consulting a doctor to help you with your problem.

When I can't shut my mind off to go to sleep, I pray. Believe me, it's very soothing and works. If you don't belong to any particular religion, make up your own mantra and just repeat it in your head until you're so calm you fall asleep. Also, try squeezing then relaxing all your muscles from the bottom to the top before you start your meditation or prayer. If you happen to be Catholic, Hail Mary works great.

Try reading.
Get a book or something you r really interested in and read in bed untill the words stop making sense and you are so tired you can't keep your eyes open.
Then put it down and close your eyes for sleep right away.

warm milk works for my daughter, try turning out the light and playing the soundtrack to The Gladiator or some Jazz. Reading a book works for me even when I'm not trying to sleep.
Good Luck and Sweet Dreams!

When I could not sleep, Rubbing lavender oil or lotion on the bottoms of my feet helped. The Massaging and smell of the oil calms and relaxes you, so that you can sleep.

Try some more exercises to make your body more tired. And try not to take a nap at all no matter how sleepy you are at noon. Try not to take any kind of caffeine or coffee at all. And at night take a warm bath with aromatherapy candles. Hope this works.

i feel sorry for you. i know what it's like. it lasted 3 weeks for me.i was told not to read or do any crossword puzzles, because it doesn't let your mind rest when you need it to.also my dr. told me to eat dinner earlier, because the body is trying to digest the food, and that could be the problem.good luck,i hope you get back to sleep soon!
