I mean, what is their take on the 2nd Amendment, the military is NOT the only one suppossed to have guns here. Despite what the liberals of today say, read the Federalist Papers for god's sake, our founding fathers wanted every able bodied man to be armed.

The main reason I have been given by democrats and gun haters in general is that "guns are dangerous" Really this is unfounded as guns kill far fewer people then cars, smoking, or even plastic bags and razor blades, but you don't see people screaming to ban them... Really what it ammounts to is that these people see guns being used in crime and fail to realize that gun laws won't stop gun crimes because criminals don't follow the laws. They steal guns or get them by some other illegal means and so gun laws banning the purchace of guns only keeps guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens who will use them as our founding fathers meant us too A ) for personal protection and B) To defend ourselves should our own government fail to abidd the will of the people and become tyrannical (( such as what happened in the revolutionary war) - But I am a firm believer in the right to keep and bear arms as much as I am a believer in freedom of speech which is something that these self same gun haters often tout. To them I say this, the rights are very similar and one can protect the other - I'll give you two guesses which one is which and the first one doesn't count.

vBecause who knew that America would turn into a violent country and what happens when you give violent people the means to weapons as a right. You have one of the highest murder rates in the western world. I guess the second amendment omitted the mature and peaceful person to the law.

There are so many guns held by the wrong hands its like now I need one and everybody should have the right to have one because criminals have them and we have to protect are selves. But if we could eliminate all guns now it would be a good idea to just let cops have them. But that aint happening.

Because they primarily represent big cities, where guns are often abused, and neither know nor care how most of the country lives.
