I'm currently starting my 9th month but I've been experiencing a few sudden but short heart pounding sensations in my chest. I think it's my heart but I'm not quite too sure. The doctors haven't found anything wrong with it and there isn't a trigger like exercise or anything that sets it off. I'm pretty nervous about what it might be but I don't have a family history of heart problems or anxiety attacks.
It doesn't hurt but it's so sudden, short and unexpected that I freeze up. It doesn't last more than 2 seconds but it feels like my heart rate doubles. I've only had it maybe 3 or 4 times during the 8th month which is the only time I've ever experienced this.
Could it be related to the pregnancy and the increased blood volume?

No, I'm not really stressed out and usually when these things happen, I'm not doing anything. You know, just being at home.

Sounds like a heart palpitation...and it could be due to the added stress on your body during pregnancy...Im sure it will go away after you give birth and if not have your Dr. check it out...they can put you on a holter monitor for 24 hrs just to make sure there is no irregular heart beat..but im sure your fine...It has happened to me as well! Good Luck!

This is not really an answer but I just wanted to say Thanks for asking that question.I am 35 wks and the same thing happens to me.I forget about it or am kind of scared to ask at times cause I'm scared something could be wrong but my doctor never says anything so I kind of figured it had something to do with the pregnancy.Congratulations to you!You are not alone!!!

Are you talking about heart palpitations? That is common. Especially for people with stress. Got any big plans coming up that might have you stressed? I dunno? Any life changing plans? Anything on the horizon that may be stressing you?

(things you are looking forward to can give you stress too!)
