David Thompson (please read on)
His nickname was "Skywalker" because of his incredible purported 48-inch vertical leap. In a league that included such talents as Michael Jordan, Ralph Sampson, Tim Duncan, Christian Laettner, and Len Bias, Thompson is widely considered the greatest player in the history of the ACC. Michael Jordan who grew up NC said that Thompson was his basketball role model, as a young man. He was the No. 1 draft pick of both the American Basketball Association and the National Basketball Association in the 1975 drafts of both leagues. Thompson and Julius Erving were the finalists in the first ever Slam-Dunk Competition. He scored a career-high 73 points in a loss against Detroit on April 9, 1978.
*AP National Player of the Year (1974, 1975)
*57-1 during his sophomore and junior seasons
*Scored 2,309 points (26.8 ppg) in 86 varsity games; including highs of 57 pts - senior, 41 - junior and 40 - sophomore
*Only player in history named MVP of both the ABA and NBA All-Star Games
*Scored a then-NBA record 32 points in the second quarter against Detroit Pistons
* Scored 2,158 points (26.0 ppg) in the ABA
* Scored 11,264 points (22.1 ppg) in the NBA
The best player most people now days don't know of. His career ended early after a bad accident in which he injured his knee and never recovered.

It's Miller Time!!!!
I hate the Knicks to being with, just like I hate all New York teams, so you know I love Reggie Miller. I was already a Miller fan before those 1994 playoffs and than he did it to them again in 1995!!!
As a shooter Miller was always one of my favorites and I tried to pattern my game after his but I was never able to come close. Miller never needed any room to shoot, all he needed was a split second and his shot was up. I never realized it til later, but thinking back about Miller and why I never got close to how good he was. Nobody, I mean Nobody worked harder than Reggie Miller before the shot! Think about that, it's hard enough to just knock down an open shot, but Reggie had to run back and forth across the baseline fight off double teams and run through screens and back screens just to get the ball, because everyone knew he was such a deadly shooter. And oh my God was he clutch! The most Clutch player I've ever seen and the guy had range too.

Magic Johnson. What a player and a person. Luckily, my Dad taped many games of the Showtime Lakers and I can watch them any time I want. God, he sees the court so well. A 6'9" basketball player who can play every single position on the court, and did. I mean, he could do everything. He was the most complete basketball player who ever played the game. Magic can score whenever he wanted to, get boards, defend, and oh yeah pass the roc. I never pass up the opportunity to watch his interviews on TV or the net. I even bought his Dream Team jersey at Niketown. I've wanted that thing since I was a kid. Magic, Magic, Magic...You're the greatest player ever.

1) MICHAEL JORDAN- Magic was best player ever but MJ was my fav cuz his game was the most entertaining. He is known for dunks and offense mainly, but many don't respect his amazing defense skills.
2)MAGIC JOHNSON - Best and most talented baller of all time. Played all positions excellently and had the size to be dominant. Pure and raw talent.
3)LARRY BIRD - Proved that with a little talent and a lot of determination anyone can be an NBA Hall of Famer. Didn't have a bunch of raw bball talent but his hard work and practice his whole life made him the best shooter of all time.

I'll go with Jamaal Wilkes. He won 2 national championships with UCLA. He was NBA rookie of the year in 1975 with the Golden State Warriors and helped them win their only NBA championship. He won 3 championships with the Lakers and had the coolest looking outside jump shot ever. Chick Hearn used to call it "a 20 foot lay-up". Every kid in school tried to emulate that smooth as silk shot of his during practice but none could pull it off during a serious game. He also had the softest hands ever! Magic Johnson used to FIRE the ball to him and he rarely missed it. He was a quick jumper, sneaky rebounder and great passer too.
It's sad that he got over-shadowed by Magic and Kareem, especially in game 6 of the 1980 finals when Magic scored 42 points and won the series. Jamaal scored 37 points that game and was overlooked. The Lakers should retire his #52 jersey and he should be in the basketball hall of fame.

Pistol Pete is holding down a close #2 to my boy BIG 'O'!!!
Oscar Robinson is by far my favorite player of all time. I mean, averaging a triple double over a whole season is no small accomplishment.
