The old traditional way is let the colon clean itself. Colons are made to do that. You really don't have to intervene.

Water..water and more water. Read the water cure on the web. I also take 2 tbls. apple cider vinegar in water before eating. Kills bacteria and germs that make us sick. I have not had a cold or flu in 2-1/2 years. No moe allergies, depression, anxiety. Hair and nails are long and strong. ACV had 93 vitamins and minerals. No stinky poo either. Cancer does not like oxygenation which water brings to the cells. I learned this from the book: water for life.

add more fiber into your diet. reduce your intake of animal products. drink lots of water.
try the fasting suggestion for a 24 hr period and drink alot of green tea either warm or cold.
if your are interested, you can try a colonic which is a roto rooter of your colon from the butt end. this is not the best method.

The old traditional way is to take 2 table spoon of cast oil, and believe me it will clean your system.

Castor oil is mixed with hot water and taken in the morning in empty stomach. Pepper rasam rice is taken for lunch with desi ghee fried seeds of Manathakalikkai (as it is called in tamil). For dinner, thin sambhar(vattral kuzhambu in tamil) without any pulses is taken along with a small quantity of fried brinjal as side dish.
