How would I list the these gases in order of increasing average molecular velocity at 25 degrees celsius: H20, He, HCl, BrF, and NO2? Thanks for your help.

Figure out their masses first.
Then recall the relationship betweem velocity and mass (should be in your chem text).

I'l be honest, I have a BS in chemistry but I've never seen that question before. The logical thing would be to put them order from smallest to largest molecular size. It woulg go He, H2O,HCl, NO2, BrF. That seems the most logical to me.
