total jerks... I had a rough child hood, had to grow up fast, no daddy around, my mom quit being a good mom, and went total opp. on me... Very bad... I also had my heart ripped out, and stomped on so hard it was finer than a pile of sand...

I didnt end up on drugs, pi**ED off at the world, and its inhabitants... My point is, it is a cop out to use anything in our lives as an excuse for our down falls, or personality traits...

You now have my complete and total respect. Thank you.

Everyone has tough **** to go through because human nature is that no matter how good your life is the worst part of it will be horrifying to you, so people should stop complaining and using it as an excuse. The only reason to be like that is if you hate yourself.

I think it's really admirable that you've managed to keep your life together and remain positive about the world when you've had such a tough time of it. I am sure that all of that positive energy you're sending out in the world is all going to come back to you.

But, you also have to understand that not everyone has the same skills and resilience that you do, so their backgrounds or histories might affect them much more deeply.

Kudos & good luck.

Why is the sky blue? Why is water wet? Jerks are there so you'd appreciate nice folks better LOL
No, really, if it never rained, would you appreciate a sunny day the same? People get used to good stuff too fast, so it's good to have the proverbial pebble in the shoe to remind us of why goood stuff is so good. That's the role jerks have in your - an my - life: to remind us how happy we are that a) not everybody is like tehem, and b) that WE are not like them.

I don't think it is necessarily. Anger is a part of the grief process. People don't heal from trauma, especially recurrent and pervasive trauma overnight. What's important is that they eventually move beyond it. To be angry, distrustful, resentful, sorrowful because one has been victimized is quite normal and everyone experiences these emotions who has experienced such trauma. People heal at their own rate, and according to their individual circumstances. I think the true test is whether or not one is willing to take others down because that's where you might be. Good for you.

It is all in a persons personality and upbringing. If you had been mad at the world, it would not have been your fault. I applaud you for keeping a positive attitude. As far as people being jerks, they have been around since the beginning of time.

People become bitter at the world because of personal decisions. Some decide to be victims of their situation, and some decide to become better in spite of their situation. Once you decide to be a victim you will most likely always think that way. If you decide to have a good attitude in spite of your life, you will most likely always be victorious in life. I applaud you for deciding to be more than your circumstances told you you were.

I think you are onto something. I don't believe it's a cop out at all when they do it. It's just thier own way to make them feel better about the way they act. Oops, I guess that IS a cop out....

Usually those with a rough start know how to empathize better later on.

We are responsible for our actions. We can make life better or worse. lt's how we look at life and how we take the challenges thrown our way that make us strong.
We are in control so there's no use blaming others.

Hope your life gets better everyday.
