I have just spend 7 weeks there and unfortunately had to go back to Europe just 3 days ago.
I miss Malaysia already!
It was the first time that I was there, and I just loved it! I loved the nature, it is such a beautifull and green country.. I do hope that the government will prevent it that more palm plantations will be there, so that the jungle that's left is preserved.
I found the national parks that I have visited so beautifull, and I have seen so much monkeys and other animals, I could live there!! I just love it!! This is absolutely the most beautifull and green country I have ever visited.
Anyway, what I really liked about Malaysia except from the beautifull nature and much wildlife, is the culture. For me, as an outstander, it seemed that the people from Malaysia manage to respect each others cultures. The athmosphere is very friendly and relaxed. Having 3 large different religious groups living together in such peace is a good example in my opinion for the whole world! I do think that religion and state should be seperate, which is not the case in Malaysia, but it seems to me that the country is liberal and very tolerant towards other ways of thinking or religions.
I also found the people overall to be very friendly. In kind of a contrast to Singapore, I think people in Singapore where much more on their own, less friendly and too much busy with bussiness and money.
Further: The architecture, beautifull colored Chinese and Hindu tempels and serene mosques, old colonial buildings and some very modern architecture.
The incredible dirt and stench in some area's and the decay. I can really love that as well ;-)
The thing in Malaysia that I don't understand is the fruitjuices! This country has everything you could imagine on divine fruits, but if you order a fruitjuice you get it either with a lot of sugar and even with milk, or just with a lot of water mixed.
And an other thing that drove me kinda nuts was that in shops, the people who work there mostly follow every step you take and make you crazy with asking: "Do you want this? Do you want that? Do you want a shirt? Do you want a pair of trousers?" like crazy.
Anyway, I would love to go back as I truely loved Malaysia!!!
One last thing... the food..... absolutely great!!!! :)

Wow..Sangre y Leche sure loves Malaysia,
I'm a young 13-year old Malaysian(a malay) and I think it's great that people do like malaysia,of course to tourists people are nice. But you haven't seen all of the states in malaysia yet,different..each place is different,unique..but I am dissapointed about the technology and cleanliness,I know it can be better but somehow..I don't know why it hasn't work yet.
If anyone wants to visit Malaysia, this year is the best year to do it.
I could even suggest some places to go to..or even Sangre y Leche who has been there.
If asian people went to europe,of course they would go crazy..it's another new world for them..the same as europeans going to asia...europe is clean..with big buildings, beautiful sight seeing, asia has different cultures and stuff. So that's why it's an awesome feeling when you travel..you feel free, and I'm going to Geneva-Switzerland,Paris,Italy and some other places near there. But only for 11 days,sad...

Singapore will still be the best in Asia. Compared with others Asian countries I still find Malaysia is better. In crime, corruption and job opportunities wise, the government is not putting much effort in solving these main issues yet. But we do hope that it will get better when time comes.

Malaysia got lots of robbers and snatchers ... all crooked people. Beware.
I have travelled extensively in most South East Asian Countries and it was in Malaysia that I was robbed at knife point.
I am an Asian - Canadian and it is just so disappointing they take advantage of their fellow Asian.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! super friendly people! I got into town after banks were closed and had no currency. This guy vouched for me at his friend's hotel so I had a place to sleep my first night. Would that EVER happen in new york city?? not without me waking up alive and unviolated the next morning.

And when the broken hearted people
Living in the world agree,
There will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is
Still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be. Yeah
There will be an answer, let it be.
