I played this with the neighborhood kids back in the 60,s. Was trying to tell my grandkids about it, but only remember how much fun we had, not how the game went?

I loved "kick the can". It was basically "hide and seek". Everyone would hide, and you had to run and kick the can, before the person found you. So you waited until they were off in another area looking for someone else, and bolted for the can. Running as fast as you could, hoping they didn't see you, and get to you or the can first.

Those were the good days, when all the neighborhood kids got along and played games outside. We played in back it the 70's, along with Red Rover, and Mother May I.

This game is still played! I work at a Boys & Girls Club and a variation of this game, we call it "Capture the Flag," is still very popular!

One person or team is designated as "it" and a can is placed in the open. We use a soccer field, but any large area will do just fine.

The other players run off and hide while the "it" covers his or her eyes and counts down.

"It" then tries to find and tag each of the players. Any player who is tagged is sent to "jail." Jail is usually a circle that players can stand in. Any player who has not been caught can "kick the can." If theykick the can without being caught then they set all of the captured players free.

If "it" catches all of the players he or she wins!

This is a great game that never gets old. It is probably better know by its new name, Capture The Flag. It is a little different, but basically very close to this classic game.

The Steelers couldn't cover kicks all season lengthy so it really is their own damn fault. And if dumbass Troy Edwards did not cover kicks by operating out of bounds for 20 yards, the first kick would not at all were observed as decrease back. yet Bellichik observed on tape that Troy were doing all of it year, so he made a particular factor to the refs to computer screen for it. positive sufficient he did it. Blame the Steelers particular communities coach (became it Bobby April that year) for no longer noticing it and correcting it earlier it cost the crew a shot on the great Bowl. Oh yeah, and the refs did not throw 3 freakin' possibilities interior the 4th quarter both. Btw, i'm a Steeler's fan. So whoever gave me thumbs down can blow me.

I think its the one w/ an it who will guard the can and keep it standing up until he taps others and make them it, then the others will throw their slippers to bring the can down, when the can is down the it must bring it up and can't tap others while the can is down, then the others will get their slippers while the it brings the can up
