Good character is the most important since you will use your intelligence for good and wise living. And for appearance you are not overly concerned about how you appear to others. Since what is most important to you is how you treat others.

I dont think you can say one is the more important. I truely believe you cant be with someone you personally dont find attractive. You also cant be with someone who's character drives you nuts. And you need someone to be able to challenge your mind as well, which kind of ties into a good character.
