Biggest noticeable difference: ASP (Classic ASP as it is known) is a Script Language (i.e VBScript), where as ASP.NET is a the web formulation of a Compiled Language (i.e. Visual Basic, C#, J#, C++.Net)

I found a the link below by searching your question. It explains some of the difference that have to be changed between asp and asp.net if you want to upgrade your code.

somewhat same.....asp.net is newer version of asp.net and to use asp.net you need microsoft visual studio.net

in asp.net you have drag drop function( like in MS Access, and Visual Basic) and in MS visual studio.net you can exchange the code between vb.net and c#

asp.net cannot be used without vb.net or c#( i think)

enjoy
