last week my boss told me that the company had gone into liquidation and that a new company was running where my terms of employment etc. would remain exactly the same apart from the name of the company. Am I entitled to redundancy from the old firm (16 months) ?

Hi!

No redundancy I'm afraid, coz you're not losing your job.

Redundancy (when payable) is only payable after 2 years continuous employment.

Hope this helps!

Not from what I can see. The company is just being taken over by a new Director, therefore you still have a job so there is no reason for you to claim redundancy, simply because you haven't been made redundant. Which is great don't you think? However I wouldn't be surprised if this new Director starts to make some redundancies in order to bring some of his own troops in.

No redundancy money going to any one. The company is just changing it's name.

If the company was closing, then ONLY the people who have been there 2 YEARS OR MORE get any redundancy monry.
