Absolutely. It's a combination of things.
DNA you recieve from your parents sets the way your mind handles information, and therefore how you can handle certain things. Then the way in which you were raised, conditioning, and these genes you inherited all work together to make you act the way you do. Depending on how and where you grew up, what your parents are like, and what situations you have been in your ability to be nice or a jerk is formed.

It is in your eye and mind which make some people sweet and others jerks. Those jerks may be sweet to some others. Don't you know people have different tastes.

Wish I knew, sometimes I actually feel sorry for some of the more pathetic jerks, but more often I think they should just sign up for a personality transplant.

I think because some people are jerks it hurts and offends other people and turns them into jerks too. I think if everyone were nice to each other then noone could get away with being a jerk.

People will always do whatever makes them happy. Some are happy to help, others are happy to jerk people around. There's sweetness and...uh..."jerkness" in everybody. The individual decides which side to display.

Lack of respect or consideration for another human being. That covers a multitude of reasons but basically it comes down to respect.
Nice people have a kinship with all of life.

Good question, I totally agree some people can be absolute jerks. It must be how life has treated them.

Life experience!
Most people who are bitter and resentful are also agressive and behave like jerks, normally with reason, could be childhood abuse, poverty, illness or many more....
Some people are also just raised poorly, so the blame can fall on thy're parents.

Insecurities, complexes, fears = aggression & general nastiness.
Read any psychology book, the same in each of them.
