The number of gays aren't increasing, but many people are finding they can now live more openly as it is becoming more acceptable in society. Also, you hear about gay people in the media now with more & more famous people coming out. It just isn't ignored as much as it was in the past.

I guess it's because some people were afraid of 'coming out' due to the way society was and still is in some areas. I guess it's becoming a little easier for them to be who they really are. I really do feel sorry for some of them who have to force to live a life just because society tells them to. I respect the people who have bitten the bullet and come out.

Because there is no more CLOSET MEN thing anymore. If your gay, so what? You dont have to pretend to be macho just to please anyone. Be true to oneself. I have a friend who is gay and his dad is the chief of Police. For a long time he hide his true personalty, fearing that his dad might disowned him or his dad might tell me you disgrace me. And then he cant pretend anymore so he told his family. They are stunned but eventually they accepted the situation esp. his dad. His dad told him if you just told me this sooner you could have save yourself from all the trouble. HANDS DOWN TO ALL THE THIRD SEX. For me your one of the bravest person I know.
