Makes you sick doesn't it? Did you hear about the insane bonuses Goldman Sachs just gave out? In the BILLIONS. Their average payout to their employees last year was north of $500,000. That includes the secretaries.

It's owned by shareholders. A lot of those shareholders are big financial pension fund companies.

Pension houses need profits in order to pay private pensions both now and in the future.. and to build up captial reserves for leaner times. Many people have a private pension and enjoy getting paid their money each month, or are working towards having in the future, I say good luck to Barclays and good luck to all UK businesses.

no feelings one way or the other on the profits that's what business is all about but the banks are always seeking ways to increase their profits for instance the new rule yesterday was to charge for current accounts//just wait for the bank that doesn't go along with that and you can join them and tell your existing bank to take a jump
