My friends tell me I'm pittyful for being so old and watching Anime. THey say I'll never find a woman who will go out with a 33 year old black man that watches Anime! Hahahahahah!! I think its funny, sort of!

If you like it, watch it! Don't pay to much attention to what other people are thinking about it.
Hey, in Japan they are drawing mangas for senior citizen, so what do you care? *grin*

I'm 26 and I would date a 33 year old black man that watches anime if I was single, though I'm not. In fact, I would love to date someone who was into anime period. I don't think you are pityful or old.
Also, in Japan, things are viewed much differently and there is anime made for older adults, which is considered normal for them to watch. There it is common and there is anime for all age groups. But here there is a stigma associated with it, which makes no sense at all. Enjoy it and don't worry what anyone thinks!

I'm 26 and I love anime so much and i will become anime fans till i die....
I have to admit that there are lot of people call me childish and that I should grow up, but I don't care they can say anything they want, I don't care. Almost same like Naruto said, if being grow up means you have to stop watching something that so good and entertaining than I prefer to become a child. Beside I don't think watching anime means you are a grown up person. It depend on how u behave and think.
Luckily I found a Man who also love anime, so that won't be a problem for us. We often watch anime together, discuss it, etc..

i don't think you should be ashamed of being 33 and still watching anime...you are what you are...love or enjoy watching anime is so much better than people who whatches porn...everyone has their own interest and hobbies...if everyone are just the same and there's no 33 year old who watches anime..then it'll be weird...my sister is 24 and she's an engineer and she still watches Disney Channel...who cares? besides, i'm sure there are many people like you out there...the world is huge and full of different kinds of people...you'll find a women who'll eccept you for what you are...and she doesn't have to be someone who is around your age and loves anime too...

I am 23. I know nothing about video games, computers, anime, graphic design and whatever else. My preference has always been the tattooed bad boys, the drug dealers, and the pushy drug addicts. Not fun! About 6 months ago, I bought this really cheesy shirt to wear, in hopes of getting this guys attention (at the time it didn't). The shirt says "Talk Nerdy To Me" right across my chest (and I've got a nice 38D chest!). My persistance in making sure he often got a nice view of my girls may be the only reason why we are finally together! LOL!
He is 34, and plays lots of video games, watches anime, and is really into the whole nerdy, computer crap! I absolutely love it! No worries for you man. Don't listen to others!

No, no shame necessary ...
It might be more difficult to find someone, but believe it or not, my girlfriend actually thinks it's kinda cute that I collect action figures (transformers), she doesn't mind my comics, and she's into animation herself, and love the studio Ghibli stuff.
Over the years I have cut back on a lot of these hobbies due to financial and time restraints, but occasionally I'll still get something, and she'll roll her eyes, and then smile :)
About animation and anime, it's quite fun to be able to share it with her. Granted, she's not so much into the tv series such as Gundam or GunXSword or Trigun, but she does like the feature length films

Anime are cartoons for adults. I thought it was a little silly when I found out my husband (then boyfriend) watched it, but I didn't care. He got me to watch some of it, and there are some of them that I really like. There is nothing wrong with it as long as its not the only way you spend your time. If you meet a girl who like you for your, she's not going to care about what you watch on TV. Can't be any worse than those sports fanatics who have to spend every waking moment watching "the game". I just can't deal with that.

do you think you should be ashamed? I think if thats a hobby you enjoy then enjoy, who cares. I watch cartoon all the time, and of course MXC because i love that stupid show. I think anime is so beautiful, its a great form of art! I don't watch it often cuz I'm so busy, but I love the art of it. I'm sure there are other chicks out there like me that dig it too, and who care what ur friends say, you are 33 you should know that by now, come on! Well I'm only 17 and I watch this kids show called Loonatics Unleashed. I great fan of it and all but I'm always to ashamed to tell some people because they are like a lot more mature than me and I fear that they might regard me as silly or childish. But there are some people my age I can tell which is okay I suppose.

a lot of anime is geared towards young adults (examples include Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Trinity Blood, Trigun, Ghost in the Shell, and many others), not just kids, so there's nothing wrong with watching it. and also, there are women out there who are anime fans, I've met some and here's the good news, their mostly between and early to late 20's, so if you can't find a woman closer to your age who likes animes, screw it, go ahead and date someone younger (they're better at that age anyways, or at least I think so).
