I should prefer to get knowledge on "Time Manipulation".
If I could manipulate time, then nothing is impossible.
Travel to a distand galaxy, 14 billion light years away, or make a better world, returning back to the past and "abolish" all the "humanity's ......"hick ups".

A 64-bit Gateway laptop running Microsoft XP with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visio. Of course you'd need to throw in a Microsoft C# compiler.
Envision what would happen:
The alien would wonder why Gateway was shipping 64-bit hardware with a 32-bit operating system and recommend an upgrade to Microsoft Vista.

Then I would say a way to make energy without polluting the environment; a way to make as much energy as needed.
Secondly, a way to travel between the stars in short Earth times. I would love to see the wonders of space and get away from the selfishness and warmongering of some of this planet's inhabitants.
