How did the FDA ever aprove it for medicinal reasons, to CHILDREN for god sakes?!

There's a big difference. Desoxyn isn't manufactured in a makeshift lab... it's manufactured in a controlled environment, by a real pharmaceutical company. And it's not passed out like candy to all kids diagnosed with ADHD. There are *several* different ADHD meds, all of which will be tried first. Desoxyn is only prescribed as a last-ditch effort to help those with THE MOST SEVERE CASES of ADHD so they might be able to function normally.
Methamphetamine (Desoxyn) is highly addictive... and so are lots of other prescription drugs. (Obviously!)
Meth can & does kill people.
But... WHEN TAKEN AS PRESCRIBED & UNDER A DR's SUPERVISION... that scenario cannot be compared to buying street meth from some fool who made it in his bathtub. The people who do that are looking to get high, and there's no way to measure out what they're using. They will use more & more (and subsequently progress DEEP into addiction) to chase the high...
On the street, nothing is controlled.
And street folks aren't taking it to feel normal, they're using it to get high.

Meth isn't physically addictive, it's mentally addictive because when people do enough to get a rush they'll want to do it again. The amount of any amphetamine taken as an ADHD treatment is not enough to get one high or give a rush. When used properly, using Desoxyn is a completely different thing from meth abuse.
Meth is safe in small amounts. It's when people spend all their money doing about 50x the presription dose and stay up for weeks straight without eating or sleeping that it's a problem.
Most prescription medicines aren't safe if you take them that much and that often. It's just that most prescription medicines don't have pleasurable effects so people just don't do that.

they didn't really aprove crystal meth, they apporve amphetamines. There is a big difference. The difference being, that they don't make there pills with battery acid, red phospher, draino, and the other in gredients that are bad. I doubt that the pharmecutical verson of meth give you the wonderful high that meth does. Meth is really bad, because it just is. It's a drug that if used in small does can make you be really productive. For example a few bumps a day, and you will probably be 3 times as efficient without showing signs of being on drugs. You wont get the really f-up high. Now if you sit a do grams of it a day, that's pretty bad. You don't accomplish anything because your so high, and all you care about is keeping that high. It's great. but really bad for you. So the pharmaceutical kind, most likely doesn't give you that higher than god high.

It is still dangerous to prescribe methamphetamine but i think the difference is that the people who get it prescribed arent using it for a recreational purpose. Also it is eaten in the form of a pill as opposed to smoking, snorting or injecting.

Its strange really.. when they give it to kids with ADHD or ADD it had the opposite effect. It calms them down.
