When writing an article and talking about the country your in - do you use "we" in referal to the country? eg a Japanese newspaper (over-biased in this case) talking about Pearl Harbour, should it be 'we attacked' or 'Japan attacked'?

Ok...My task is to write two heavily biased newpaper reports on the attack on Pearl Harbour (during the time) - one from the view of the Americans and the other from the view of the Japanese. If Japan was successful, shouldn't I make it 'we' to make them feel involved and as propaganda?

How about "the beloved emperors forces " because i think it was the way it was done then. The emperor was a God

I would say "Japan attacked". That way it keeps a historical context.

If you used "we" it gives the suggestion that the current generation should feel guilty for the crime and aggression of war, when the main part of Japanese people today had nothing to do with the conflict... and can not be held responsible for the crimes of their parents or grandparents.
