My super amazing girlfriend knitted me this blanket for Christmas and I was wondering what the best way to clean it is? Its kind of a suede type yarn, and the car peed on it. So I was wondering, either wash it in the washer, dry clean, something else?
Thanks for all the help!

Is it yarn, or is it suede? If it's yarn, you can wash it on the gentle cycle but you really need to dry it flat. Lay it on the floor on clean trash bags or a clean tarp. Every so often, go in and mop up any standing water. Flip it twice a day to keep both sides exposed to air.

When you wash it, don't have anything else in the washer, and use more water than you think you will need, to be sure you will get all the smell out.

Unfortunately, kitty is attracted to this blanket for some reason, so you'll have to sprinkle it with red pepper or something to deter him. You can't train him to stop llike you could a dog.

The Lion Brand yarn web site has these washing instructions for Lion Brand Suede:

Machine wash, lay flat to dry; do not machine dry or bleach.

The symbols indicate to wash in warm water.

You can ask her how to clean it, or in a washer, gentl cycle, cold water, and woolite, rinse well in cold. SUEDE type yarn-please take it to the dry cleaners first, see what they say.
