For example, I know a man that during his youth and young adult years believed that he could figure out life by himself. He could work his way to success by himself. He did not think he needed the advice or counsel of others. Then in his 30s he got married and his debating with his relatives and friend began to overstress him. One day while he was taking a shower and feeling overwhelmed a life changing idea entered into his mind, “Lean not unto your own understanding.” At that moment he had an epiphany. He had the realization that the caring advice and opinions of others mattered, because they loved him enough to voice their views. Many of their words had been true. At the moment in the shower committed himself to listening and taking more seriously the good, honest, and loving advice people had for him.

As a young adult, I had an epiphany when my friend was "reporting" to me about her date with a handsome coworker: "He stood me up!"

I would NEVER have admitted such a thing. My moment of epiphany was when I realized that consequently, I thought MORE highly of her than less! It made a surprisingly huge difference in my life.

When I was in the 9th grade - I just could not figure out the math. Then 1 weekend, it was like all the pieces came together in my head and I understood. My grades went from a struggle to get a D to a high B - and on some tests a A.

Sometimes when people have a problem in their life - they feel like they are beating their head against a wall. They go to sleep - get up the next morning - and suddenly realize - they now understand how to solve their problem.
