i tryed d: then enter and nothing happens

Odd, d: does it on every one of my systems.

cd stands for "change directory" and you shouldn't have to use that unless your moving about in one drive.

From the command promt in WinXP I see:
C:\Documents and Settings\
from here just enter d:
and you'll see
D:\
providing your d drive is a hard drive that is formated to a recognizable OS.

Is one way " %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,D:\ "
the even older method is " cd d:\ "
No quotes
