im in total writers block and i have been trying to write something amazing and i know its there but i cant put it onto paper..
help?

its not inspiration your looking for, its hard work. If you treat songwriting like a job, only then the best work will come out. Try to see the guitar and it's chords as shapes... find shapes that sound good, sing over it, get a melody, throw lyrics on it... they dont have to be good at first, but as you get rolling better lyrics will come out. Try clearing your mind by watching a movie that touches you. Read a book for a while then try songwriting again. I know what you mean, its all up in your head, but you want to get it down on paper... i know this battle well. The best advice i can give you is to never give up, just when you think youve reached your peak, you will see there are more mountians to climb.
