i just got my 2 Australian Eastern Snake/Long Neck Turtles
ive had them for about a week and they are about a month old
there is alot of skin peeling off their necks. because they were stressed from moving houses they got those white spots which i am treating now. does all that skin have something to do with stress and white spot disease or is it just shedding?
thanks

As turtles grow they are shed the upper layer of the scutes. This may happen more frequent in smaller animals than with older specimens.
Shedding may occur by loss of the complete, individual scute in some turtles. whereas others will shed this outermost layer slowly by abrasion.
Slow shedding of the scutes may also be a sign of deficiency (Problems with the calcium metabolism). If the shedding is prolonged, the problem may be that infections have developed underneath leading to necroses. The growth of these is accelerated in bad water conditions and may retain undetected for quite a while.
New scutes that appear after shedding are initially softer and take some time to harden
(THIS SEEMS TO MEAN ONLY THE SHELL SHED AND NOT THE SKIN)

All reptiles shed their skin, including turtles. Sometimes if they have a skin condition, like fungus, they'll shed more as a natural means to get rid of the damaged skin. If there are any other symptoms, then I'd worry, but if it's just shedding, it's normal.

Best of luck.

it incredibly is often the case that turtles won't devour for each week or 2 whilst placed in a sparkling residing domicile. If this maintains, tempt it with a small earthworm placed some distance some distance off from it, so as that the earthworm does no longer frighten the turtle. distinctive stable stay nutrition are fishes (now no longer goldfish) and consumer-friendly-bodied insects. as quickly as you're able to be able to desire to now no longer get stay nutrition, cut back back strips of liver and airborne dirt and dirt them with bone meal.

I don't know what you paid for these things but I'd invest in a good reptile vet if you want to keep them, to make sure all is OK. they can be realy picky
