Hi there,

Maybe you could try going to the Philippines for study abroad. The poeple there are very hospitable and they speak english well.

Check out GoAbroad.com's Study Abroad Directory for the Philippines: http://www.studyabroaddirectory.com/Philippines.cfm

But if you want to pursue going to Colombia, you can check this link as well: http://www.studyabroaddirectory.com/Colombia.cfm

GoAbroad.com staff took the time to verify most of the study abroad providers(look for the light green logo check, check+ or check++).

Good Luck and hope this helps :)

I think this is one of those 'feel the fear and do it anyway' moments...

Of course you're nervous - anyone would be. It's scary. There are things you don't know about. But at the end of the day, I think it'll be worthwhile. Your Spanish will improve no end, which is a really useful skill; and you'll get experience of travel, and living in a different culture. Most of all you'll learn that you can do things like this, even if they do scare you a bit - which is an incredible feeling, believe me!

Best of luck - and enjoy studying abroad!

If they don't let you go to Colombia, and because I think it is best to study in the country of origin, than choose Spain (visit the links below).

About going to another country and staying with another family... I would take it as a very good challenge to get to learn about different people, cultures, countries, etc. They, the colleges you would enroll with would not send you to a family that hasn't been proven to be good with foreign students.

Chin up!
