What are people referring to when they say "emo"???

People refer to other people as emo but they have no idea what they are talking about. Emo is a style of music. "People" use it as a stereotype and it's completely ignorant....don't let others influence you to do anything ... but it's better that you are questioning it rather than using it and not knowing what it is...awesome!

It basically is a shortened for of the word emotional...
Typical 'emo's' wear black, are involved in a deep drression and cut their wrists as a way to deal with their emotional pain. they all so pick at these cuts so the wounds go deeper, so that the next time they cut in that place it won't hurt as bad. They also think about death a lot. But the term 'emo' is extremely stereotypical. People assume that just because you like black you're an emo!

Emotional music.. but it has come to the point that every song out there should be considered "emo" because all music is full of emotion...
but mostly emo is "Ah she broke up with me i hate life im so depressed cuz my wrists and hang me because i have lost love and now dont want to live any longer"
seee that right there would be a number one hit in Emo world

It's like a goth. They say goth people talk about killing themselves and cutting themselves up. But emo do cut them selves.
