Full Metal Jacket and Saving Private Ryan. Full Metal Jacket had the most accurate view of the basic military training and the Vietnam War. Saving Private Ryan showed the raw human emotion of war. I remember my sister's FIL saying that when he saw a man die (he fought in WWII) in combat, the last thing he would ask for was his mother (just like in Saving Private Ryan). He also said that the movie haunted him a long time with it's realistic portrayl of WWII.
