For the past 5 years now I always get miserable two weeks before my birthday. My b-day is this mon. and today I was so damn miserable. I don't even know why I always get depressed around my birthday. Any thoughts?

I'm the same way. I guess it's because our birthdays remind us that life is passing us by and we're getting older and older.

You didn't give your age???? But ANY birthday should be a celebration.....so what you're a year older at least you're not dead! My gyno once told me when I was about to turn 30 and I was depressed "It's only a number, how do you feel? face it you'll get a year older each year or you'll die" makes sense to me. I say shake off the blues, hold your head high, and look forward to another year of fun things ahead. Live life be happy my best birthday ever was turning 50 and I am definitely living life having FUN. Smile it's not a big deal.

Why do you look at your birthday so negatively? Each year is a blessing! Did something happen 5 or 6 yrs ago that made that particular birthday a bad memory? Please see your dr. or a counselor to find out what is going on, to help you to have a happy birthday by the next one. Take care., Happy Birthday!
