They are real. They were described consistently and accurately by the native Americans. My Anthropology teacher had a Kushtaka ivory statue from Southern Alaska. She called it a forest spirit and the statue was over a hundred years old. I was amazed by it because I could see that it was obviously a Bigfoot. Since then, I have learned that these native American renderings were common and their myths are descriptive. For me that is just a small piece of the puzzle. The eye witness sightings are most convincing to me. I have studied the footprints more than anyone reading this would believe and they contain a vast amount of information. It has gotten to the point that faking these footprints and other evidence is far more unlikely than an unknown hominid hiding in our back yard, figuratively.

I have no idea if they are real, it is just that I have seen all kinds of creatures that look very strange in real life at a zoo (or aquarium) that I have never seen in my life anywhere else. To me a baboon is stranger than a bigfoot or yeti, yet I have seen them with my own eyes in real life.
There are definitely, without one doubt, creatures which are alive and are not known by modern science. They could be real, I believe it is possible.
In the case of bigfoot, if they are real primates, maybe they are just apes that escaped and have gone wild (like a wild boar compared to a domesticated one). If they are a new species of ape, then perhaps they are smart enough to stay clear of humans.
Lots of "maybes" and speculation. I wish some real scientists would launch a real expedition out to find them. I have never in my life seen a serious search for one.
I cannot help but think if you get a bunch of rednecks out there with guns and dogs and say, "hey y'all, shoot the guy in the hairy ape outfit!" that you would find one, if they exist, pretty fast.

Bigfoot ranks real low on my list of believable phenomenon. But having said that, I won't discount it completely. I do quite a bit of camping and outdoor activity. I've seen and heard some strange things. Like UFOs and other strange creatures, the jury is still out. There are too many believable accounts to completely dismiss.

People are finding animals every day, that we never knew existed, and these animals are not trying to avoid us. If these animals are truly as smart as people say then it will not be hard for them to evade us. Look at the giant squid. No one has seen one alive, but they exist. There body are found washed up some times, or in the body of whales.
On the other note the tribe might be bored and have a good sense of humor. Like in that movie "The Village" by M. Night Shyamalan.

I believe because the Native Americans and most native tribes have some sort of bigfoot/yeti in their lore and culture. I just wish someone would catch one or have a decent video of one to answer it once and for all.

The missing link alive? I was fascinated as a child about this myth yet I always doubted to be a myth. I am a skeptic but I am convinced that there are so many things about this world that we live in that we don't know. There are so many reported encounters with such creatures that I am either going crazy or they really exist.

There have been more sightings of cryptids and accounts of them than there have been sightings and records of Jesus.
When these cryptids (bigfoot/yeti) live of different sides of the globe, in areas where hairy ape-like creatures don't live...
It doesn't seem so hard to grasp.

I believe in these things for the pure and simple fact that not all species have been found. Although if one was ever caught the skeptics would yell "Fake" just like they did with the platypus when it was caught.

Seriously, have you ever been to a hick town?
You'll run into a hundred guys that are hairy, poorly dressed, and make strange noises.
All bigfoot is, is one of these guys who decided to live in the woods.

Yes. The stars in "The Little Mermaid" and "Splash" are real merpeople.
