In town newspapers, are only the articles in the archives, or are the classifieds archived as well?

The on-line archives of our little daily only has news stories, but I'm pretty sure that we scan or microfilm every page of every copy, and they of course keep a few copies of everything they print. Libraries have microfilms of complete copies of the more famous newspapers.
