It got really good reviews, but I did not follow it. HELP!

I got lots of spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen it here:
Anyway, the first part of the movie, when there still nothing too weird, when the two girls are living together and rita has amnesia, thats supposed to be a dream. when the cowboy comes in and says "hey pretty girl time to wake up", thats when the main character (naomi watts) wakes up from her dream and comes back to real life. the dream was supposed to be about how she wanted all things to be. she had that girl rita all for herself, was begginning a career as a successful actress and the movie director was having a terrible life. i guess the name confusion happens, because basicly everyone confuses some names in dreams. then in real life, everything was frustration for her, since rita is marrying the director adam kesher and she's lonelier than ever. eventually some stuff seem to hard to explain and u just gotta interpret them yourself, like the weird guy behind the rest. and the little people. finally i think club silencio was just a weird place she was imagining in her dream.

Watch it one extra time protecting this in concepts and it's going to probable make extra sense to you. The action picture is a play on desires, with such an acurate portrayal a human dream ever on action picture. the action pictures additionally performs on the "hollywood" dream of coming up it huge, consequently the placing of l. a.. THe action picture starts off interior a dream and our character does not awaken till the midsection of the action picture the place the cowboy comes into the room and says some thing like "time to awaken darling" then the character wakes up and something is actual. attempt that on for length.

I got a headache watching it, and left the cinema laughing.
Not the good type of laughing, the sort of what the .... ??! laughing.
But I understand the director kind of like to make those types of movies.
Wasn't he the one that directed the Twin Peaks series and movie as well?

It's supposed to be some kind of surrealism without a fixed plot or reality.
